About the Charity - Sharing Connections
Sharing Connections provides donated furniture and household items to low-income families in the Chicago area helping them transform a bare apartment or house into a home. The individuals and families they serve include the previously homeless, unemployed and working poor, veterans, domestic violence victims, people with developmental and physical disabilities, people with mental illness, and victims of fires and floods. Most households they serve have an average income of only $12,400 a year for a family of four. Over half of those served are children. Each day in the Chicago area families sleep on the floor, use their couch as a table, store food in a cooler, and put babies to bed in a cardboard box. There are also many Chicago area families that have an abundance of household items. Sharing Connections is the link between these two groups. Over 500 individuals benefit from their services each month. Learn more at: http://www.sharingconnections.org
